KURT ORDERSON

Kurt Orderson is an award-winning filmmaker from Cape Town, South Africa. He has worked for the South African Broadcasting Corporation, producing, shooting and directing current affair shows and numerous documentaries for television. He is the founder and director of Azania Rizing, a production company that aims to inspire young people through creative storytelling about Africa and African Diasporas.

RAISA COLE
CO-PRODUCER
Raisa Cole is writer and researcher focused on systemic approaches to resilient urban
planning and design. Raisa has a Masters degree in International Cooperation and Urban Planning from the Technische Universiteit Darmstadt, Germany with a specialization MSc in Urbanisme, Habitat et Coopération Internationale at the University of Pierre-Mendès in France (UPMF).

NAJMA NURIDDIN

As a filmmaker Najma, writes, directs, produces and edits. She has also traveled and worked in Africa, Europe, and South East Asia as a freelance filmmaker. Currently residing in New Orleans Najma, previously an Emerging Voices Mentee with the New Orleans Films Society spends her time as an adjunct film lecturer and working on her next project.

Jacqueline Ramos is a film producer from São Paulo, Brazil.

KHALID SHAMIS
EDITOR
Half Libyan half South African, former Londoner. Khalid manages to both direct and edit documentaries, although at vastly different paces. His own films have taken up to 7 years to finish whereas he constructs and completes numerous films a year as an editor. This becomes a strange place of guiding first time filmmakers, directing directors, imbibing worlds alien to his, containing and creating another’s vision, manifesting the dreams of the subjects in the films and being taken by the voice of the material itself.

Chris Kets is an editor and cinematographer from Cape Town, South Africa. Chris’ latest work is a series on Cape Town’s fashion scene Mzansi Style Guide for the online publication HYPEBEAST, a documentary on the #Gqomwave scene in Durban for Boiler Room and music videos for Spoek Mathambo’s The Mountain, Akabongi DJ Lag’s Ice Drop and Dope Saint Jude’s Keep in Touch.
